Evolution and climate go hand in hand

Environment played a major role in human evolution as our ancestors had to adapt to climate change

A few days away from the console release of Ancestors, we present the sixth episode of our Experiences series where Patrice and climatologist Pr. Mark Maslin discuss the environment’s major role in human evolution as our ancestors had to adapt to climate change.

In this episode, Patrice and Pr. Maslin observe the climate changes that significantly impacted early human evolution. As they identify the stresses that shaped Africa’s landscape 10 million years ago and served as a catalyst for human evolution, Pr. Maslin sees how the game reflects this environmental shift through its varied biomes. In the company of his daughter Abbie, Pr. Maslin expands upon this concept that a continually changing environment propels each generation forward through evolution and is excited to see how Ancestors represents this growth in its gameplay with the neuronal RPG and passing of generations.
